Open source and licenses
Where the KeebDeck's hardware and firmware come from, and how they're licensed.
The KeebDeck is built on open hardware and open firmware. Here's who made what, and where to find it.

The KeebDeck Basic was designed by Solder Party. Their KeebDeck documentation is the upstream reference for the original hardware. Made of Waves is not affiliated with Solder Party.
What that means for you
- You can read, modify, and redistribute the firmware under the terms of the GPL-2.0.
- The hardware design can be studied, modified, and manufactured under the CERN OHL v1.2, which requires keeping the license notice and pointing to where the design documentation lives.
- Made of Waves additions to the firmware (configuration, keymap, layout definition) are free to use and modify, with attribution, as long as the upstream licenses are respected.
